Prof. Dr. Carmen Baumeler, Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET)
Dr. Silvia Grossenbacher, Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education (SCCRE)
In recent times, the number of national and international PhD programmes in research in education has grown. Such programmes make it possible for PhD students to acquire, in a structured manner, the competences needed to successfully complete their dissertation and establish themselves as researchers.
Scheduled to take place in Lucerne in 2014, the planned preconference to the Annual Conference of the Swiss Society for Research in Education (SSRE) is mainly intended for young researchers in research in education. This preconference will provide an overview of existing PhD programmes in research in education and highlight both the advantages and disadvantages of this structured form of doctoral research.
There is no need to pre-register for this preconference.
